It's ok Jasper...

Jasper has been very chatty (or singy if you've seen the previous post!) lately, and greeting me a lot more than she used too. I think she might be missing her sister Charles. Well, it used to be Charles who would always come and greet me whenever I went into the coop. She looks kind of sad in this picture, don't you think?

One thing you might not know about Jasper is that she loves to sing. Admittedly, I do not enjoy it too much, because whenever I go in the coop for something she comes in and just follows my around singing. This may sound cute too you, but it does get a little annoying. Oh, what a voice!

Gotta Love 'em, but they'll ruin your Jeans

In my years of keeping chickens, I have noticed this saying applies to most every day in the chicken business. I was taking food out to them, and I noticed they were in prime picture mode. So I went in, oblivious to the fact that I had my best jeans on. As you may guess when I came out, my jeans were in a worse state than when I entered. Doc was very nice and consented to not jump on me as five other chickens did.
Pearl thought about it for awhile and then jumped.:(

Here is a collection of pictures of the chickens' face region. They are all incredibly handsome birds, and I think you can tell on these pics. Jed, a great asset to the coop, his good eye staring you down.

Jasper, not often posted on this blog, I think she sometimes feels jealous sometimes for all the attention I give her sister Charles.

Two years that flew by!

Here are a few pictures of the chickens when they were younger. These are about when they were three months old. They were just beginning to et there feathers. You can still see all the chick fluff on their heads though! They grow up so fast! Julia is standing on the feeder and Pearl is standing on the water can.
