Second in Command

Jed considers himself head of the coop. Richie on the other hand believes Jed to be second in command. Even with these differing opinions, they don't confront each other too much. Wow, I like this picture of him! He looks so authoritative.
He looks a bit mean here.
Look at those tail feathers. That is something Richie doesn't have!

Chicken close ups; The truth you never knew

Here is a collection of pictures of the chickens' face region. They are all incredibly handsome birds, and I think you can tell on these pics. Jed, a great asset to the coop, his good eye staring you down.

Jasper, not often posted on this blog, I think she sometimes feels jealous sometimes for all the attention I give her sister Charles.

Rockin' Feed!

Here is a rather hilarious video of the chickens trying to eat with the feeder rocking back and forth. Yes, it was a bit mean on my part, but I don't think the chickens minded. Don't let me tell you! Judge for yourself:

Fun with Jed!

Jed is quite a fun little chicken, and is liked best by 14% of my blog readers. That is, assuming all the readers of my blog vote on polls. Anyway, Here are quite a few pictures of Jed. They were taken yesterday before I cleaned the coop. Jed pulling his "deep in thought" pose. I wonder if he thought of anything.

I think some of that feed went down the wrong pipe, or else he is sick of being photographed.

Jed: Crower extrordinaire

This video is kind of long and it takes a while to get to the crowing part. However, you can skip to 16 seconds and see the crowing part. It is very interesting.

Jed actually learned to crow from Richie. His previous owners said that Jed never crowed, and now he does it all the time. Apparently, Richie is a skilled teacher!

Movie stars!

Yes, our chickens are now movie stars! Only Pearl and Charles are, actually. We were filming a movie for a school project, and those two chickens are a major part in it. Here is a picture of the two movie stars:

Squeaky clean coop!

I was overloaded with homework today, so mom got the difficult job of cleaning the coop. It requires a very special talent. Mom did a pretty good job, with some help from Jed and Charles.

Jed: King of the coop

Today I went into the chicken coop to find a surprise. Jed was in the coop. He usually tries to escape when I go in there, but today he stayed in (maybe because the door was closed). I took the opportunity to take a few pictures of him. He is very photogenic.

We are going away camping for a few days, but the chickens are in good hands. Meanwhile, here is a picture of our camping spot:
