Signs of Spring

Today was a beautiful, there were many hopeful signs that spring is on its way! Here are three of the thirteen eggs laid today, its the most we've gotten in awhile. I also took some pictures of some of our trees that started blooming this week.

I almost forgot, my sister and I got interviewed last week for the radio on the ins and outs of raising chickens. It was a very interesting experience, and I think she is going to give out this blog address so we will have a lot more readers! I will have to update more...

Some kitten pals~

One of our friends in Michigan got three kittens and we saw them while we were there. My cousins and I got to name a few of them too. The kitten pictured below is Gracie. She was hiding under a propane tank when I got this picture. Kind of random, but she was.

This is Macho Taco. I named it Salad first, but then they changed it to Macho Taco. They are both really weird names, but I still like salad better.

Here is Gracie again..My sister wanted to name this one Millie, but it got changed to Twiggy. Here is my beloved Salad again...

The kittens were very entertaining for us while we were in Michigan. When we go back next year they will be all grown up.

I have not taken any pictures of Shadow recently, because it is very hard for her to stay still. Today, however, she was very competent and just sat and licked her tail. Here are the resulting pictures;

Charles and Shadow

Charles is laying down now, she made it through the night.

Shadow was very sweet. Last night the two touched noses and Charles preened Shadow's ear.

Also, Shadow likes moving around Charles's box. Charles doesn't seem to mind.

Here is another picture from Sunday- I haven't been out ot the coop too much this week. Shadow actually brushed up on Meez, and she let out quite a cluck!

On Sunday I was mostly focusing on Julia, but I did get a few random shots of Shadow. She follows us everywhere, but is usually too close to get a good picture. Seriously, she is like your own personal shadow, hence her name. Here are the pictures:

I haven't taken pictures of Shadow in a while, so here are a few.

I recently discovered this really cool picture editing program. It is really neat. Below I have the original picture and all the edited ones. I will definitely use it again! This is the original: This one makes the focal point of the picture stand out.

Today I encountered something I had never thought of before. You know how dogs are man's best friend? Apparently cats have a best friend too. Boxes. Ever since dad put the box in the garage, Shadow has never been seen out of it except when she's eating.Oh, and I learned another thing too; Don't try and take away the box.

I hope you are all having a nice December and are ready for the holidays! Boxes will begin to arrive for everyone...even cats!

I seem to be into posting about cats lately. Here is another close cat friend, of whom I can not reveal the name. He is a very cute little cat as you will see from the pictures. He also lives in Michigan, I might add.

All cats need some time to chill.

Happy Feet

You may have wondered why Shadow never picks on the chickens. One reason is her feet are at least 3 times smaller than the chickens. There are many other reasons, but I thought I would take that oppurtunity for a picture.

Cat, Pumpkin, and Witch; All signs of Halloween!

Many of you do not realize how hard it was to get this picture. Shadow was squirming and the pumpkins were trying to escape. Have a Happy Halloween!

Shadow and her shadow

When I was out in our yard I noticed Shadow acting in an odd manner. She was walking back and forth in front of a wall. Soon I found out she was investigating this character that was following her around. Here is the process of events that happened after;

"Hey, I think something's following me!"

"Yes, your right there... Don't try to hide!"
"I've got my eyes on you!"

"I'm just going to walk away, and you'd better not follow me!"
