Snowy plumage..... and weather
Lemony has the coolest plumage of all the chickens, in my opinion. She is black and brown with a dusting of white. It looks like it has snowed on her. Speaking of snow, we got an unexpected flurry of it today. It was quite nice, but I wish it had gone on longer. These pictures of Lem are before the snow.

This last one makes it look tropical!

Feeding on Feed
These are a bunch of photos, ok, three, that I took last weekend. Emma and I had just fed them, so most of the chickens were in the coop. Here are some of the shots I got at the time.
Jed; I forgot to zoom-out.
Charles helping himself
I would have put a better picture of Survivor, but I used it in a post last week. So this one will do! A good thing about this one is that you get a nice view of her plumage.

The next Charles Lindbergh
Charle Lindbergh was a famous pilot who was the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic. You can find out more about him here. A little extra knowledge never goes amiss. Well, here is a picture of our Charles attempting a flight across the coop. However, he is not the first chicken to do so.
That is all for now! Have great weekend!

Crazy Cat
I recently discovered this really cool picture editing program. It is really neat. Below I have the original picture and all the edited ones. I will definitely use it again! This is the original:
This one makes the focal point of the picture stand out.
This is made to look like a drawing
Another one where the focal point is emphasized

The making of the awesome interview
Here are a few pictures we took before the interview and in the making of it. I thought you might want to know a bit of background info from behind the scenes!
The Emma Show welcoming their guest, Jed.
The "Football Player" in the video. Thats her awesome disguise. (Thanks for the shades, Dad!)
I don't have any pictures of our cameraman, but he goes by "Agent Pizza"

Inauguration: Obama style
Well, the time has come! Mr. 44th president has arrived on the doorstep of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to the delight of some and the regret of others. I am one of the delighted crowd. Here are some cupcakes with the Obama insignia someone made for us.
I found this neat editing program that you will hear about in a upcoming post.

Another Chicken Interview (Way awesomer!)
This interview is spellbinding. It is just, I can't say anymore, just watch the thing!
Some friends of Emma and I helped us take the movie. Jed was awesome!
(if you didn't get it in the video, the football player yells "Where's the football" and Jed is the football")

Julia's Photo shoot
Today was such a beautiful, clear and warm day. Emma and I had the neighbors over and ran around outside the whole day! It was a great opportunity to do a photo shoot too! Little Julia was our subject, and she turned out to be an amazing model.
It is actually very difficult to get a good picture of a chicken because they shift around so frequently. Although it makes it that much more rewarding when you get a good one!

Sensational Sign
I got this sign from a friend at school for Christmas. Isn't it cool? I took it in the black and white filter because it looks more professional. Thank you for the sign Tamie!

Short and Sweet
This is a short video, but it portrays what chickens do. I think at this stage in your education of chickens, you should be able to recognize what state of molting they are at in this clip. Your essay is due next Thursday..... Sorry, but guess what week it is; Semester final week.
I sure chose a convenient time to be sick!
Good Night! Or Bonne huit! (French Final was today too!)

Phidelli the Great!
There has been some nasty weather recently, so I have not been out to the coop. Plus, I have this VERY annoying cold. This picture is taken while we were camping with some friends. We(the kids) found this butterfly and named her Phidelli for some reason. We saw her around all day at the river, until we realized there were about a million butterflies that looked exactly like her. This is the original Phidelli:
I probably should have cropped it, but the mountains in the background are a nice touch! Now I miss going camping!

A light in the Darkness...
Ok, I was a bit bored last night so I took a few pictures of a candle. They are not great, but since I have not taken any of the chickens, I think it is better than nothing! Plus, I am not a big fan of how it is always getting dark around 4:30. Suddenly, the whole day gets away from you. Here are the flickering flames:

Well, there's your dose of randomness for the day! If you can call it that!

Rockin' Doc!
These pictures are from winter break too. I caught Doc in a very photogenic time apparently, because all my shots of him that day were quite splendid! Here are a small collection of that day's gallery:

Shining Pearl
Here is a few pictures of Pearl. She is quite strange sometimes, but cracks a good pose! These pictures are from winter break, I haven't had time to go out to the coop, this week. Today I had two basketball games, and I still have a bit of homework to do.

Thank you for reading!

Summer memories
This is a picture from this summer of my mom and Julia. The chickens would just hop right up on the swing while she knit. They never did it for Emma and I, though.
This summer was great, and so is this winter. I am not to fond of this in-between weather, though!

Watch out, J.K.....or Shadow
You would think that J.K. should be on her watch, but actually Shadow is in more trouble. When they were chicks, Shadow often looked at them hungrily. However, she seems to have missed her que because now the chickens are not afraid to take a snap at Shadow once in a while.
Wow, in both these pictures J.K. doesn't move once!
