Musique

Here are some pictures from about a month ago. You can tell because they have Charles in them. I was listening to my ipod and then Charles wanted to listen too.

Charles and Shadow

Charles is laying down now, she made it through the night.

Shadow was very sweet. Last night the two touched noses and Charles preened Shadow's ear.

Also, Shadow likes moving around Charles's box. Charles doesn't seem to mind.

A feather post....(Get it?)

Yesterday I found a very nice feather and matched it with a nice black post. It is either Charles's or Jasper's feather-I don't know which. Anyway, I found it to be quite photogenic. Who would have thought, a feather...
Yes, five pictures of a feather. I am so weird sometimes.

Charles doing what she does best....

This isn't a great picture, but as I haven't taken too many pictures this weekend it is the best I've got. Emma and I were outside and we let a bunch of chickens out to enjoy the good weather. This is Charles taking advantage of the freedom and doing his favorite passtime; kicking leaves.

Bye for now, and do you like the new three-column template? It took long enough to figure out!

Spotlight on Charles!

I spent some time with Charles today. The other chickens were picking on her, so I got her out of the coop for a while. I think she enjoyed it. Here are some pictures from today.

The Neon Look

Here is a picture of Charles I took today and another neon version. I think I could have done a better job editing it though! The neon didn't come out as well as I thought.

Feeding on Feed

These are a bunch of photos, ok, three, that I took last weekend. Emma and I had just fed them, so most of the chickens were in the coop. Here are some of the shots I got at the time.Jed; I forgot to zoom-out.
Charles helping himself

I would have put a better picture of Survivor, but I used it in a post last week. So this one will do! A good thing about this one is that you get a nice view of her plumage.

The next Charles Lindbergh

Charle Lindbergh was a famous pilot who was the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic. You can find out more about him here. A little extra knowledge never goes amiss. Well, here is a picture of our Charles attempting a flight across the coop. However, he is not the first chicken to do so.That is all for now! Have great weekend!

Out and About

I went out to the coop on Sunday and here is the pictures. Pearl and Charles were the only ones to consent to have their pictures taken, as the others were too interested in scraps.

Hi, there!

Here is a picture of Charles poking her head out the coop. Where ever we are, she always wants to come out. Unfortunately for her, she is to big to fit through that hole. It is neat to watch her try however!

Friendships made across the aisle (species not politics!)

It is a wonder the friendships that are made across the boundaries of species. This is Charles and I, great friends! I wasn't sure which picture was better so I put in both.:)

Chicken close ups; The truth you never knew

Here is a collection of pictures of the chickens' face region. They are all incredibly handsome birds, and I think you can tell on these pics. Jed, a great asset to the coop, his good eye staring you down.
J.K., one of the original flock. She is always there for a photo opportunity.
She recently got stuck on the roof of the coop. Details on that later...
Jasper, not often posted on this blog, I think she sometimes feels jealous sometimes for all the attention I give her sister Charles.
And of course, the brave and noble, Charles Dickens! Oh, yes, I love this little guy!

Struting with Purpose!

One thing rewarding about having chickens is they are exciting to watch. That may sound boring, but it is actually quite an enjoyable pass time. You see, when they walk it looks like they have gum stuck to there feet, which is very amusing to observe! When the chickens are outside they move very quick and sharp movements, because they don't always get to be outside their coop. All right, I think I have given you enough description, now you can see the pictures!
Julia just looks like a little blur!

Charles is giving you the eye!

Our Immaculate coop!

Do you like my word choice? I thought I would say something other than "Our clean coop". In the picture you can see our tidy walls behind Charles. That job is very long, but worth it. It is always nice when people don't flinch when they walk in! The chickens will sleep well tonight!

A Chicken Dream

If chickens had dreams(which maybe they do, I don't know) this is what it would look like:

Chickens love anything ot scratch and peck in.

Jump on it! Jump on it! Jump on it!

Here are pictures of Charles and Doc attempting to escape from our aviary. They were successful, but I had them rounded up in no time!

Doc didn't make it out the first time, but she did the second time.

Chicken chat

This is a picture of Charles and Jed sharing the latest chicken gossip. Rather short post today, but that is all I have to say!

How much cuter can you get?

That, my friends, is a picture of my favorite chicken, Charles. I do realize that I have been rather unfair on including some of our other chickens in the blogs, but what can I say? Charles is just awesome. That about sums it up! Have a great weekend!

Exclusive interview with Charles

Today is a great day in the history of chickens film making! We got our first interview with a chicken! Charles was pleased to donate some of the chicken ideas on many matters. A special thank you to our filming staff: Professor Pebble, Lena, and Col. Cookie. (They chose their internet names!) Enjoy, and remember it was only our first interview!
Thanks for watching!!!
