Belated Fireworks~

I took quite a few pictures of the fireworks in Michigan, but I was unable to post them at the time. What was really amazing was that I got to light off four! I have never done that before so it was pretty cool. Here are a few pictures of fireworks from the official show.
^I love this picture^

Creativity at work!

Yesterday my sister and I were busy with a big art project. We had to make a background for our church's Vacation Bible School program. The whole mural is five feet by ten feet and took us nearly six hours to paint! It was worth it, though!
Our supplies.... What a mess to clean up afterwards...
Hopefully once the church is done with it we can hang it somewhere in the house... I don't think mom would agree, however...

Confirmed!

This Sunday I was confirmed into my church. It was a great day and one I will always remember. Here is my outfit that is also what my friend Lilia gave me for my birthday!

Tree climbing thrill

Climbing trees is one of my most favorite things to do. Today was another beautiful day, and I spent part of it up in the top of my favorite cedar tree on our property. There is me, having fun, although I got so many scratches up my arms, you have no idea... Oh well, just part of the thrill!
Whew, I don't have a fear of heights, but this was quite high. About seventy feet I would estimate.
I found a nest in the top of the tree! Nothing in it, however.

I was going to take a picture of a certain inscription on the tree(Anna), but then I decided against it. Anyway, I hope tomorrow is as nice as today! Happy Easter everyone!

Plane sunset

While on our way to Washington DC, we witnessed this beautiful sunset. I can't do it justice in these photos, but it was amazing. I always think sunsets are much prettier on a plane. We could actually detect the sun moving, and after five minutes it was gone. Of course, it was the Earth moving just in case any of you science teachers are reading this. This one is pretty blurry, but I wanted to capture the fieriness. Wow, that is actually a word.

A weird note~

My sister gave my dad this note when he needed to carry the chicken feed into the coop. They come in fifty pound sacks, so Emma and I have some difficulty carrying them that far. Emma got a bit carried away with her note.... Isn't it cute?

I'm dreaming of a white....March?

For around the fifth time, I find myself posting about snow.... Well, it is back folks! Hail and snow came down in a mix last night, and today everything was covered with a blanket of white. We took advantage of it by going over to our neighbors house and doing an all-out snowball fight. Our aim really improved throughout the morning, and by five o'clock tonight I was able to hit Emma from twenty yards away, and that was with a moving target. We all improved dramatically, and are ready for the next snow day(or two-hour late day!!!)! Hopefully we will get some more snow tomorrow! Keep your fingers crossed!

Technology~isn't it great?

My dad just got a blackberry phone after having his other one for around five years. I am helping him with the music and texting, and I went to my blog from it too. It is really neat, and I commented to my friend's blog with it as well(it sure took awhile). He was able to take pictures with it at my Volleyball game, which was cool because he doesn't have an ipod, or camera, and now he has them all in one.

In Theaters......

Last night, I went to the theater with some friends and saw Inkheart! It is really well done, and follows the book. I read it in fourth grade, so I had to explain certain parts to my companions. It would probably be confusing if you haven't read the book, but most things are explained in the movie. I recommend it! This is Meggie, the main character.
This is Inkheart the book.

Inauguration: Obama style

Well, the time has come! Mr. 44th president has arrived on the doorstep of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to the delight of some and the regret of others. I am one of the delighted crowd. Here are some cupcakes with the Obama insignia someone made for us. I found this neat editing program that you will hear about in a upcoming post.

Here is the original photo

Phidelli the Great!

There has been some nasty weather recently, so I have not been out to the coop. Plus, I have this VERY annoying cold. This picture is taken while we were camping with some friends. We(the kids) found this butterfly and named her Phidelli for some reason. We saw her around all day at the river, until we realized there were about a million butterflies that looked exactly like her. This is the original Phidelli: I probably should have cropped it, but the mountains in the background are a nice touch! Now I miss going camping!

A light in the Darkness...

Ok, I was a bit bored last night so I took a few pictures of a candle. They are not great, but since I have not taken any of the chickens, I think it is better than nothing! Plus, I am not a big fan of how it is always getting dark around 4:30. Suddenly, the whole day gets away from you. Here are the flickering flames:

Well, there's your dose of randomness for the day! If you can call it that!

Paper Chickens

I got an oragami calendar for Christmas, and I really like it! I have never done oragami before, but I realized it is pretty fun, with proper instruction. Here is all the animals I made:
All in all, it was a great Christmas!

More Cookies!

Alright, yes I have discovered that I have a certain obsession with taking pictures of cookies. I don't know what it is about them, but they are just so photogenic. These ones are ginger snaps. You will have to judge whether the spritz or ginger snaps looked better in the pictures.

Happy Christmas Eve, and please comment!

Gathering of Bloggers!

Today I met with three fellow bloggers, and we discussed possible ways of promoting blogging (ok, fine, we actually had a sleepover and had a great time and didn't discuss blogging as much as it suggests in the previous sentence.). I met with Nadine from Candy Cane Llama, Agent Pizza from Blogs of Pizzas, AG from The Most Awesomest Blog Ever, and Emma from her new blog Emmas Dilemmas. Also, present were Agent Catnip is not a bloggers, but is helpful in her own way. We had a great time, and enjoyed the first official day of Winter Break.

Yay! 100 Posts!

Yay! We have reached the hundred posts mark! This is a big step for this blog, and I could not have done it, without so much feedback and comments from all of you! We started this blog back in May and I don't think any of us expected it to be this awesome(as you can see, I left the humility at home:)(but who needs it anyway?)

We shall start out Winter Break with one hundred posts. Doesn't that just feel good? Plus, we beat "More Yarn Please" to one hundred! Ha Ha He He! Wow, we only beat it by five minutes!

Newest focus!

I just made an amazing discovery! Cookies are photogenic! Yes, its true. My mom, sister and me were making spritz cookies last night and I figured out that they do not only have high taste quality, but also picture quality! We ended up making five batches! I took quite a few pictures too! This is my best picture of them. I would say it is pretty good!
My sister took this one.

The last batch!
(Oh whoops, this post has nothing to do with chickens!)
